These Terms of Use are the agreement between you and Friday for the
Friday app, friday.social, and related services. By creating an account
or using Friday, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use
Friday.
1. Friday
Friday is a social calendar for plans, Sparks, Events, invitations,
reminders, and related features. Friday is operated from Singapore.
Support:
hello@friday.social.
Privacy:
privacy@friday.social.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle
personal data. It is part of how we operate Friday, together with
these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years old to use Friday, or 18 where Apple,
Google, or local law requires a higher minimum. You must provide
accurate account information. If we learn you do not meet the minimum
age, we will terminate the account and delete associated personal data.
3. Your account
You need a Friday account to use the core product. Sign-up requires a
mobile phone number. You are responsible for the activity on your
account and for keeping verification codes and devices secure.
You may change your handle and other profile details in Settings,
subject to Friday’s handle rules and any cooldown after a handle
change. You may delete your account from Settings or by contacting
privacy@friday.social.
Friday is free during private beta. There are no in-app purchases or
subscriptions at launch. If paid features are added later, we will
update these Terms and any store listings before charging.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
Harass, threaten, impersonate, or exploit other people
Post unlawful, sexual, or otherwise prohibited content involving minors
Spam, scrape, reverse engineer, or disrupt Friday
Use Friday to send malware or attempt unauthorised access
Share other people’s private information without permission
Use Friday if we have suspended or terminated your account
You can block other users from launch. If you need to report abuse
during private beta, email
hello@friday.social.
We moderate reactively: we review reports and may remove content or
accounts.
5. Your content and licences
You keep ownership of the Events, Sparks, photos, messages, and other
content you create. You grant Friday a worldwide, non-exclusive
licence to host, process, display, and deliver that content as needed
to operate the service you requested — for example showing an Event
to people you invited.
You are responsible for the content you share and for having the
rights to share it. Visibility depends on how you configure an Event,
Spark, or profile. Default public profile information is your handle
and photo. Phone discoverability is on unless you turn it off.
Friday’s name, logo, stickers, software, and design are ours or our
licensors’. You may not copy them except as the app allows.
6. Permissions and third-party services
Some features need device permissions. Notifications may be requested
when you install Friday. Precise location is not requested on
install; you can enable Location Access later in Settings, which
opens your device settings for Friday. Contacts and calendar
connections are optional.
If you connect Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or another provider,
their terms also apply. Friday is not responsible for those services.
7. Private beta
Friday is in private beta. Features may change, break, or be removed
as we learn with the early community. We provide Friday “as is”
during this period and do not promise uninterrupted or error-free
service.
8. Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent allowed by Singapore law, Friday is provided
without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular
purpose, or non-infringement. Calendar suggestions, weather, and
social information can be incomplete or wrong. Do not rely on Friday
as your only record of a commitment.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Friday and its operators are
not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost
data damages. Our total liability for claims relating to Friday is
limited to the amount you paid us for Friday in the 12 months before
the claim, or SGD 50 if you have not paid us (Friday is currently
free).
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that Singapore law does not
allow us to limit, including for fraud or death or personal injury
caused by negligence.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Friday and delete your account at any time. We may
suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by
law, or if we discontinue the service. After deletion, we handle
personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. The courts of
Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek
injunctive relief in any jurisdiction to protect Friday or other
users.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use after an update means you
accept the revised Terms, except where Singapore law requires a
different process. The “Last updated” date will change when we
publish a revision.
